WCC celebrates Teachers’ Day in contemporary style

Despite the limitations of COVID-19, students of Women’s Christian College organised innovative Teachers’ Day programmes during Assembly Hour on September 3rd this year to appreciate their professors for continual efforts in teaching and assessment, especially through online mode.

Teachers' Day celebration at campus

As the world acknowledges the services of numerous people during the pandemic, WCCites decided to do their part in appreciating teachers for all their help and guidance during these difficult times. A combination of on-campus and virtual programmes captivated teachers on this special day. The students attending classes on campus, planned a fun afternoon for their teachers with games, self-composed songs, dance performances, surprise virtual meets with alumni and non-academic interactions that resulted in fostering stronger student-teacher relationships. Other departments organised thoughtful virtual programmes that included theme-based, pre-recorded cultural events such as songs, dances and recitation of original poems.

2nd shift's online program

Meanwhile, the students of Shift II and PG created a compilation of videos from their departments, expressing gratitude to their teachers.

While these hour-long programmes could not compare with the sustained and imaginative methods adopted by teachers to make virtual classes more meaningful over the last one and a half years, it created a better mutual understanding and respect for one another, resulting in strengthening the teacher-student bond!
