The club conducted its first club service event, “Vanga Pazhagalam'' with the theme, “let’s all get to know each other better!” The event was filled with laughter as it was a huge step in the transformation of the OBs’ team into a family. “Beyond Boundaries'' was an international service event conducted in connection with International Friendship Day. It was an interclub event organised to strengthen the bond among Rotaract Clubs in various States of India. The event included icebreaker activities and letterhead exchanges between the clubs.

Club activities involved not just fun but also informative sessions. The online mode made webinars accessible and innovative. M Srinidhi, a Nature Educator, was the speaker at the event “Tiger Trail”, a webinar to create awareness about tiger conservation on International Tiger Day, July 29. A webinar on health issues titled “Olirum” was conducted by Project Tangled. It was an informative webinar about lung cancer, where Dr Ushaa Eswaran, Entrepreneur, Women’s Rights Activist and Motivational Speaker educated Rotractors about awareness and prevention of the disease. Apart from informative webinars, the club introduced a weekly series called “Friday Fem Talks” presented by Project Stree Suraksha, as an initiative to educate its members about women’s rights and empowerment.

In addition to webinars and weekly empowerment talks, the OBs organised “Pearls Of Wisdom,'' in celebration of Senior Citizens’ Day for three days starting August 21. In this event, the members of the club posted pictures of their grandparents holding placards carrying a life lesson that they wished to share with young minds of the club. An interactive cultural event with games and other activities was organised by Rotaractors for Project HIV. “Chase the Rainbow'' was the online colour-themed cultural event for HIV-infected children residing at Shelter Trust.

As part of Madras Week celebrations, Rotaract club conducted a musical event, “Sa-Re-Ga-Madras'', in collaboration with Indian Music Club of WCC, to celebrate the rich musical heritage of Chennai, on August 25. The club also conducted fun-filled webinars, on embroidery titled “Gembroidery''; a master class on content writing titled “Vocademy”; on the basics of calligraphy titled “Ezhuthu”, and on origami presented by Project ‘Maname-O-Maname’ titled, “Origa-me”.

Rotaract club isn't limited to online events; during World Water Week celebrations from August 23 to August 27, they conducted an offline event for conservation of water, where Rotaractors took the initiative to save water, the elixir of life, in simple ways, as an attempt to conserve water. However the event that attracted the highest participation among students was “Little Joys,” an offline photography contest on the occasion of World Photography Day, August 19. The contest required the participants to capture small moments that brought them joy during the lockdown. The club members participated enthusiastically and showcased their talents. For most people, 2021 was no different from 2020; it was the same lockdown, same protocols, and everything remained static; but not for the members of Rotaract Club, WCC, who were involved in so many meaningful and fun-filled activities along with service to the community.
