NSS to the Fore with Flood Relief Efforts

Due to severe rainfall caused by the Northeast monsoon this year, many areas in the State’s capital, Chennai, were recently affected by waterlogging and flooding. North Chennai in particular was badly affected by waterlogging. As people's homes got flooded, many of them were not able to step out. NSS members mobilised funds from their neighbourhoods and assisted Greater Chennai Corporation in providing food to affected people. President Janani Shree P, and NSS volunteers undertook relief work at Pulianthope on 10 and 12 November, distributing food, water and other essentials to people in distress.
