IQAC INITIATIVES 2021-22

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) conducted a number of Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) and workshops this academic year to familiarise faculty with new procedures and assessment processes of our college.

On 18 June, an online Orientation Programme was organised for the new faculty who joined college this academic year. This was to welcome the new faculty and make them familiar with ethics, policies and procedures in our college.

Some of the components covered in this programme were Ethos of the College by the Principal, Dr Lilian I Jasper, Work Life Balance by Dr Kanchana M, Head, Dept of Psychology, Online Teaching-Learning and Assessment: Ethics, Google Meet & Classroom by Ms Regi Thomas, Head, Dept of Computer Science, and Attendance, Evaluation and Feedback by the Deans of Academic Affairs of Shifts 1 & 2. A session on the topic “Innovative Teaching Methodologies: Student Centric Learning” was conducted by Ms Titty Elizabeth Phillips, Head, Dept of History, and Dr S Usharani, Assistant Professor, Dept of Psychology.

From 21 to 23 June 2021, a three-day FDP was conducted on Preparation of Question Bank for Learning Outcome based Curriculum Framework (LOCF), organised by IQAC and Controllers of Examinations, Shift 1 & 2. The aim of this FDP was to orient the faculty towards preparation of Questions based on the Course Outcomes spelt out for each course, culminating in a digital Question Bank. Dr C D Lethi, Rtd Professor from Holy Cross College, Trichy, was the resource person.

In addition, IQAC collaborated with individual Departments in offering workshops and training programmes to faculty members in order to enhance teaching-learning-assessment methods and to keep abreast of new technologies in these fields.
