Chapel Committee begins year with 24-hour Chain Prayer

On 13 May 2021, 40 students of WCC took part in a 24-hour chain prayer conducted by the Chapel Committee on the theme “Standing in the gap”.

The students of WCC decided to become prayer warriors as the death toll peaked during the second wave of Covid-19. Despite the fact that the college was closed for vacation, the students from both shifts in WCC, prayed in unison and faith for the nation, its government, and for various medical issues, financial crises, illness, death and other problems faced by people during this pandemic.

The committee members, with the help of Ms. Cordelia Hannah, College Chaplain, organised the prayer in a successful way. A Google form was created to assign time slots to students based on their availability.

The chapel committee resumed regular worship services once the students were back on campus. Morning services are conducted every day from 7:45 to 8:00, afternoon services are from 12:10 to 12:20 and evening services are from 6:00 to 6:45. Apart from this, Sunday special services are conducted from 6:00 to 6:45 pm.

In addition, the committee successfully organised EPIC '21 on 15 October, White Gift Day sales on 13th and 14th December, White Gift Day on 16th December and Christmas Programme on 20th December.

A special Christmas Programme for Non-teaching staff was also conducted.
