Effective use of EBSCO library for quality research
A webinar on the effective use of EBSCO was organised on 14 September by the Information Resource Centre of the college. This service greatly benefits staff and students through WCC’s institutional membership. The webinar lasted for one hour and students were oriented on the basics of accessing the EBSCO online library platform. Mr Periasamy Pradeep from their training team hosted and provided guidance on how one should register, log in and make use of EBSCO efficiently.
Elton B Stephens Company (EBSCO), USA, provides products and services to libraries of many types around the world. Its products include EBSCONET, a complete e-resource management system, and EBSCOhost which supplies a fee-based online research service comprising over 375 full-text databases and over 600,000 e-books, subject indexes, journals, articles, magazines, point-of-care medical references, audiobooks and an array of historical digital archives. EBSCO has both online reading options as well as audiobooks. It even gives registered users the right to download and view material offline.
